The Barnet Park and Cottage property was willed to the Township as a recreation area, by Tom Barnet, grandson of a Lumber Baron, who used it as his summer residence and cottage. The approximate seven-acre property boasts a public boat launch, two beaches, two gazebos, a picnic shelter, picnic tables, and lots of grassy areas for the public's enjoyment.

The Cottage can be rented for functions and events from June to September. The park remains open to the public at all times. Contact the Township Office by telephone 613-752-2222 or email to check on availability.

Rental Fees

Residents/Non-Residents $600.00 per day/ $1000.00 per weekend

Damage deposit $500.00 (refundable after facility inspection)

50% deposit is required to secure the rental

What's included with the Cottage rental?

The Cottage has a maximum capacity of 70 people.

Tables and chairs are available to accommodate the maximum capacity.

The Cottage consists of a 24'x35' main room, a kitchen, washrooms, and a large covered wrap-around porch.

Please keep in mind that the park, boat launch, beaches, etc, all remain open to the public.

Please note that large event tents are not permitted.  Tents no larger than 10'x10' are allowed.
