The Great Mad Band

Special Joint Open Rehearsal with the Arnprior SALC Brass Ensemble+

The GM55+ SALC program is excited to introduce The Great Mad Band, a newly formed community musical group bringing local musicians together through a shared love of music.

Following a call for local musicians, several talented community members came together and began rehearsing in June, the group adopted the name The Great Mad Band.

The band is led by Carole Mundy, who is also a member of the Arnprior SALC Brass Ensemble+. Through this connection, we are thrilled to welcome the Arnprior SALC Brass Ensemble+ to Calabogie for a special Joint Open Rehearsal.

Experience Music in the Making

Monday, September 28, 2026
1:30 PM
Calabogie Community Centre, 574 Mill St. Calabogie
Admission: Free

An open rehearsal offers a unique opportunity to experience music from a different perspective. Rather than watching a finished concert performance, attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at how musicians work together to bring a piece of music to life — exploring solos, dynamics, tempos and arrangements along the way.

You may hear a few starts and stops as the musicians work through the music, but you'll also have the opportunity to enjoy full-band arrangements performed live.

The combined musical groups will feature a wide variety of instruments, including strings, percussion, brass, reeds, keyboard and bass guitar.

The Arnprior SALC Brass Ensemble+ is well known throughout the area, and this special joint rehearsal is a wonderful opportunity to hear them alongside Greater Madawaska's newest community band.

Free Admission – Pre-Registration Required

Admission is free, but pre-registration is required to help us plan for refreshments, seating and space.

To register, please email salc@greatermadawaska.com and include the number of people attending.

Come out, support our local musicians, and experience The Great Mad Band in the making!
