Calling Local Musicians (55+)
Do you play a musical instrument?
Do you read music?
Interested in playing in a group?

GM55+ - The Greater Madawaska Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) is reaching out to connect with musicians in the Township. Whether you’re currently playing, returning after a break, or just getting started, this opportunity may be for you.

We’re hosting an information meeting to explore interest in forming a local musical group.

About the Program Lead

Carole Mundy, an experienced trombonist, will be leading this initiative. She has directed a variety of groups including a blues band, Dixieland group, and brass ensemble. Carole is also active in several ensembles, including swing dance and big band jazz groups, and performs locally with the Arnprior SALC Brass Ensemble.

What to Expect

At this stage, the type of group will depend on community interest. This is an opportunity to:

  • Meet other local musicians
  • Share your experience and interests
  • Help shape a new musical group in the community

Knowing When to Stay, When to Move, and How to Plan Ahead With Amy Friesen — Founder, Tea and Toast & Eldercare Planners of Canada Eldercare Strategist • Best‑Selling Author

Most families don’t fail at eldercare—they’re simply navigating without a roadmap. This session gives you the clarity, confidence, and practical tools you need to make informed decisions before a crisis forces your hand.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to recognize when staying at home still works

  • The red flags that signal it’s time to reassess

  • How to avoid crisis‑driven decisions

  • Ways to plan ahead with confidence and reduce overwhelm

Amy Friesen brings years of expertise supporting families through some of their most challenging transitions. Her guidance helps you understand the signs, options, and strategies that lead to safer, more sustainable care decisions.

The first crisis is often the warning—not the anomaly.
