Committee of Adjustment
The Committee of Adjustment is a body which Council can appoint to consider minor variances from the zoning by-law and consider alterations to legal non-conforming uses.
Applications to the Committee of Adjustment are processed in accordance with the requirements of the Planning Act, and applicable municipal policies.
The Committee of Adjustment is authorized by the Planning Act to consider applications for:
- Minor variances from provisions of the Zoning By-Law
- Extensions, enlargements, or variations of existing legal non-conforming

Purpose and Effect: The purpose and effect of the proposed Minor Variance is to permit the construction of a proposed 22.2 m² (approximately 240 sq. ft.) shoreline structure (shed/garage) accessory to the existing residential use by reducing the minimum required water setback from 30 metres to 20 metres, permitting a shoreline structure within the Shoreline Activity Area on a property having water frontage on a waterbody considered at capacity, and increasing the maximum permitted cumulative area of shoreline structures within the Shoreline Activity Area from 35 m² to 43.2 m².
