Road Construction Projects

The Township of Greater Madawaska completes annual road rehabilitation and maintenance projects to improve safety, road conditions, and long-term infrastructure planning throughout the municipality.

Each Year the Public Works department updates the Asset Management Plan to help determine the roads that will be updated for the following year.

Below you will find information on current and upcoming construction projects. Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.

Description of Works:

The work involves pulverizing old surface treatment, adding gravel, and installation of new LCB on Road.


Total Length: 230 m

Cooper Hill Road

Description of Works:

The work involves brushing, ditching, new culverts, pulverizing old surface treatment, adding gravel, and
installation of new LCB.

Total Length: 3.1 km

Graphite Bay Road

Description of Works:

The work involves brushing, ditching, new culverts, pulverizing old surface treatment, adding gravel, and
installation of new LCB.

Total Length: 1.1 km

Kennedy Road

The work involves pulverizing old surface treatment, adding gravel, and installation of new LCB on Road and paving Cul-de-
Sac.

Total Length: 450 m

Wolf Rapids Road

County Road Construction Updates

Several County-maintained roads run through Greater Madawaska, including:

  • County Road 65 (Centennial Lake Road)
  • County Road 508 (Calabogie Road)
  • County Road 511 (Lanark Road)

Construction, rehabilitation, and traffic impacts on County roads are managed separately by the County of Renfrew. Residents can view current construction updates, project maps, lane restrictions, closures, and detours through the County’s construction resources below.
