Celebrating Canada Day in Greater Madawaska is always a great time!

Start off with Canada Day Celebrations on Saturday June 28 at 12pm-4pm, at the Matawatchan Hall, 1677 Frontenac Road, Matawatchan.

On Tuesday July 1, take part in the 5K & 1K FunRun in Matawatchan at 8am, at the Matawatchan Hall, 1677 Frontenac Road, Matawatchan.

The Township of Greater Madawaska would like to inform residents that Mayor Rob Weir will be taking some personal time to focus on his health.

During this time, Deputy Mayor Taylor Popkie will assume the responsibilities of Mayor to ensure continued leadership, support for municipal operations, and progress on key community initiatives.

Dacre and Area Community Association is accepting applications for a Student Bursary

The qualifications are as follows:
➢ You are graduating from either RCI, St. Joseph's High School or Opeongo High School;
➢ You are entering the workforce into a new or current place of employment; or you will be entering into a skilled trade apprenticeship or continuing education program; or you will be attending post secondary education;
➢ Your family are currently DACA members or associate DACA members in good.

The Household Hazardous Waste Depot located at the Renfrew Landfill site, will be open May 3 to August 30 for the 2025 summer season.

The site is located at 376 Bruce Street, Renfrew.

Community Clean Up Week

April 22-26, 2025

Pick up some clear garbage bags at any of the following locations:

Ginza Rink, 15 Ginza Street

Calabogie Rink, 574 Mill Street

DACA Centre, 111 Flat Road

Clean up litter along any road or community space, keeping recyclables separate when possible.

Return bagged litter to the bin at each location or, leave a message at 613-752-2249 to have it picked up along Township Maintained Roads.
