Roads and Public Works

The Township's Public Works Department is responsible for planning and managing the Township's road infrastructure which comprises of approximately 98km of paved roads and 132km of unpaved roads.

The Department's operational maintenance includes patching, grading, sweeping, ditching, as well as winter control activities such as sanding, salting, and plowing.

The Public Works Department is also responsible for the construction of major roadways and rehabilitation activities, including crack sealing, asphalt resurfacing, curb and sidewalk repair and replacement, and reconstruction.

Township roads are maintained according to the Minimum Maintenance Standards.

Reporting Road Issues

To report a non-urgent road issue, such as potholes, request for dust suppression, grading etc., please complete and submit the request for service form (link below).

For urgent road issues during regular office hours, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm, please call the Township Office at 613-752-2222.

For road emergencies outside of regular office hours please call 1-866-876-7404. This number is only to be used in the event of a road-related emergency of potential danger on a Township road that requires immediate attention outside of regular business hours. In the event of a medical emergency, please call 911.

Winter Parking

Parking on any municipal road, street, parking lot or snowplow turnaround is prohibited annually from December 1 to March 31, both dates inclusive. The Parking by-law can be found on the Commonly Requested By-laws webpage under the By-law Enforcement tab.

Entrance Permit and/or Civic Address Application

To receive an entrance permit and/or a civic address number, you will need to complete the Entrance Permit and Civic Address application. Full details and the link to the online application are available on the Entrance Permits and Civic Addressing webpage.

Signs on Township Roads

Signs cannot be posted on or within 4 meters of a road allowance in accordance with the Township's Signs By-law, which is available on the Commonly Requested By-laws webpage under the Roads tab.

Streetlights

To request a streetlight installation on a Township road, send a written request to the Roads Supervisor.

Road Cut Permit Application

Road Cut Permits are required for any cuts made on any Township roads and must first be approved by the Roads Supervisor.
