The Fire Chief may, at any time, issue a fire ban based on the local conditions.
- When a Level One (1) fire ban is in effect,
- all burn permits are suspended
- no new burn permits will be issued
- no person shall at any time set, maintain, or allow any open air fire other than:
- Campfire
- Enclosed barbeques fueled by propane or charcoal
- Outdoor furnaces
- Fireworks with extreme caution
- When a Level Two (2) fire ban is in effect,
- all burn permits are suspended
- no new burn permits will be issued
- Prohibited Activities:
- All open-air burning, including brush, debris, and grass fires
- All campfires, regardless of size or location
- Chimineas, fire pits, and burn barrels
- Fireworks, sky lanterns, and similar devices
- Ban busters and outdoor wood-burning appliances used for recreation
- Allowed:
- Propane or charcoal barbecues, in good working order and used responsibly
- Propane Fire-pits, in good working order and used responsible
- Outdoor wood furnaces, as permitted by by-law
